Love Is Blind Watch Party Ideas (Any Season!)

Of all the reality dating shows, Love Is Blind might just have the best premise.

I mean, come on — watching people fall in love without ever seeing each other? It doesn’t get more romantic than that. (Well… it would be a little more romantic if the show’s success rate were higher than 25%.)

If you watch Love Is Blind, chances are you just love the idea of love, and you’re hoping everyone gets their happily ever after. Watching with friends makes it even better: you can share the joy, gasp at the drama, and commiserate when your favorite couples break up.

So if you’re planning to binge the latest season with a few fellow romantics, here are some fun ideas for hosting your own Love Is Blind watch party!

Recreate the Pod Experience

The first few episodes (typically around five or so) are usually spent in the pods — the most unique aspect of the Love Is Blind experiment. This is where participants go on hours-long dates and decide whether or not to get married, all before ever seeing each other.

The way the show is structured actually offers the perfect chance to recreate the pod experience at home as a viewer!

Watch the Pods Sight Unseen

For a fun and fascinating experiment, try watching the pods sight unseen, just like the participants!

We started out using these silk eye masks, which were whimsical but made it a little tricky to eat our snacks (priorities, am I right?). To make it easier, we realized we could just drape a blanket over the TV — ideally, use one that’s dark or isn’t see-through.

If you don’t have either option, simply closing your eyes or facing away from the TV works too.

Whatever method you choose, watching the pods without seeing any of the participants is an intriguing experiment, and even better with friends!

Keep Track with Journals

One caveat: watching the pods blind makes it surprisingly hard to keep track of everyone.

It’s easy to tease the contestants for their journals and mixed-up notes, but after doing this ourselves, I totally get it. We didn’t have journals, but I wish we did! Writing down names and details helps you remember who’s who — especially once the love triangles (and squares) start forming.

If you’re watching with a group, these red journals would be so cute, and my favorite gold heart pens fit the theme perfectly.

Even with notes, though, it’s easy to get lost, since the show isn’t designed to be watched blind.

When we got confused, we actually asked ChatGPT very specific questions (clarifying not to share spoilers) to figure out which couples were still in the pods and who was who. Disclaimer: ChatGPT is as prone to hallucinations as ever, so proceed at your own risk.

Do Your Own Reveals

Once you reach the reveal moments, which are usually sprinkled throughout the pod episodes, it’s so much fun to join in and see the couples meet for the first time!

Since we had switched from masks to covering the TV, we dropped the blanket at each reveal, making for some seriously dramatic moments.

Recreating the pod experience was both entertaining and challenging. It made us realize how much visual bias affects our opinions, and how tricky it is to gauge chemistry without body language.

While it may not be practical to always watch the pods this way, it’s an interesting and surprisingly insightful experiment I recommend trying at least once.

Love Is Blind Themed Food & Drinks

You really can’t have a watch party without snacks.

Since there aren’t many foods or drinks officially tied to Love Is Blind, you have lots of creative freedom! Think heart-shaped or love-themed treats, red-and-pink color palettes, and touches of gold. You can also draw inspiration from iconic moments and running jokes from the show, as you’ll see below.

To tie everything together, I labeled all my themed elements using Avery tent cards — an easy way to make everything look cohesive.

Here’s some of my inspiration for Love Is Blind-themed food and beverages!

Love is Cheese Caprese Skewers

Cheese really is wonderful, isn’t it? For a cute, on-theme appetizer, try these caprese skewers.

Slice grape tomatoes at an angle and arrange them into heart shapes. Skewer with fresh mozzarella balls and basil leaves, then drizzle with balsamic glaze if you’d like.

I used these gold skewers from Amazon.

Cuties

Remember Tangerine Gate? In season 3, Cole allegedly asked Zanab if she was really going to eat two tangerines. Her response, “It’s a serving size,” became one of the show’s most debated moments after the reunion footage dropped.

Regardless of whose side you’re on, cuties will live on in infamy for the rest of Love is Blind history!

For a touch of humor (and an easy snack), put some tangerines in a bowl and add a sign that says “Limit: 1. Serving Size: 2.”

Pod Popcorn

Popcorn is a must for any watch party. You can pop your own or go the easy route with flavored popcorn. I’m currently loving Trader Joe’s Herbs & Spices Popcorn, but kettle corn makes a fun sweet option, too.

The Bar Is On the Ground (5-Layer Magic Cookies)

Ever notice how the women in the pods swoon over guys doing the bare minimum? Like, “He asked me one follow-up question,” and suddenly he’s a hero.

Let’s be honest, the bar is on the ground — which makes these 5-layer magic bar cookies the perfect Love Is Blind snack.

They’re ridiculously easy to make, can be prepped ahead of time, and fair warning: they’re dangerously addictive.

Red Flags

Sadly, Love Is Blind contestants have no shortage of red flags. For a cheeky themed snack, skewer red sour candy strips onto sticks to create your own edible red flags!

I used the same gold skewers from the caprese appetizer for consistency.

Drinks in Iconic Gold Wine Glasses

Gold wine glasses are one of the show’s most defining visuals. Although it’s maybe a little too easy to forget that the reason they’re gold is so the producers can edit the footage any way they want…

I couldn’t justify buying any since I don’t have space for more glassware, but I was SO close to buying these stainless steel gold wine glasses.

Serve anything you’d like — wine, cocktails, or mocktails — but presenting drinks in gold glasses will instantly elevate your Love Is Blind watch party aesthetic.
