How to Host a Bachelor Viewing Party: Games, Snacks, & Decor
If you follow ABC’s Bachelor franchise and enjoy having people over, hosting a Bachelor viewing party is a fun way to turn an ordinary evening into something special.
This guide covers everything you need to throw a Bachelor or Bachelorette watch party, from themed snacks and drinks to free decor printables (plus an optional paid bingo add-on if you want something interactive!).
Reality dating shows may not be the most wholesome, but they’re undeniably entertaining (and often make you feel better about your own relationship). And if you’re someone who just loves love, there’s always hope that two people who met on national TV will actually get their fairy tale ending.
Watching the ups and downs of this cringey (yet addictive) “journey” is best done with friends, which makes it the perfect excuse to throw a fun and slightly over-the-top party.
The Bachelor franchise includes not only The Bachelor, but also The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, The Golden Bachelor, and The Golden Bachelorette — all airing at different points in the year. That means plenty of opportunities to host themed watch parties year-round.
This post walks you through how to throw a Bachelor viewing party with easy decor ideas, themed food and drinks, and party games. While many of the examples are tailored to The Bachelor, you can easily adapt them for any of the franchise spinoffs.
Update: With the recent cancellation of The Bachelorette, I put together a guide on what to watch instead, along with a few creative ways to turn it into a watch party.
Let’s dive in!

Decor
Although admittedly, I’m a fan of decor in general, I do feel that it’s maybe the most important part of a Bachelor viewing party. Having the right decor sets the tone for the evening and can really take your event to the next level.

Fortunately, it’s possible to pull off decor without too much effort if you stick to a few key guidelines. For a color scheme, I recommend using a red/pink palette as you consider your options for decor, since these colors align with the theme of the show.
Here are a few decor elements to consider.
Red Roses
Due to the significance of ‘Will you accept this rose?’, red roses are the most central aspect of The Bachelor, and are a necessity for a viewing party. If you only choose one thing to decorate with, be sure to use roses!

Decorate your home with as many as you can — I used two dozen spread out around my apartment in my fleet of bud vases, but you could use more or less, just ensure you distribute them around your space.
You can also supplement your roses with greenery or other neutral filler. I love baby’s breath because it’s inexpensive and goes so far.
Candles & Fairy Lights
Candles, which provide ambient lighting, are another key atmospheric component of The Bachelor. Candles are both inexpensive and impressive, so be sure to take advantage of them!

Battery-operated fairy lights are also an easy way to add light and set the mood.
Banner
A decorative banner can help you anchor the theme of your Bachelor watch party. There are plenty of options available to purchase online, but I opted to create my own. I printed the letters on cardstock, cut them out, hole punched the corners, and threaded them with ribbon.

Balloons
Balloons are so celebratory, and are a great way to liven up your Bachelor viewing party. Helium balloons are fun but require day-of pickup and can be expensive. Alternatively, you can purchase a kit and create an arch or clusters.
How to Create a Balloon Arch/Clusters
If you want to be epic, you can create a massive balloon arch. But since that’s pretty time- and labor-intensive, I’ve found that a couple of smaller clusters can serve the purpose equally well.
To create a balloon arch or clusters, you just need a few things:
- Balloons (preferably of varying sizes/colors)
- Balloon Tape
- Balloon Pump (not required but highly recommended)
Follow these steps to create a balloon arch or clusters:
- Inflate a few balloons of varying sizes (you can use the same size and blow them up different amounts, but it may slightly impact the color).

- Allowing a few extra inches on one end of the balloon tape, start to place the ends of the balloons in the ‘holes’ of the tape, securing the knots in the smaller part of the opening if you can.

- Continue adding balloons, ensuring you use different sizes/colors next to each other for variety. You can skip a hole or two if it’s too crowded, just be sure that it looks full enough.
- Once it’s gotten to the size you want, cut off the extra balloon tape and secure the loose end to your desired location with string or sticky tape.
- Voila!

Tableware
Tableware (tablecloths, dishes, utensils, etc.) serves both a decorative and functional purpose for a Bachelor watch party.

I found some fun disposable rose cocktail napkins to help tie together the theme and color scheme. Especially if you’re serving a large crowd, you could also purchase themed disposable tablecloths/dishes/utensils. However, I love the look of real dishes and utensils (and they save money), so I opted to use mine!
Framed Quotes/References
If you have any picture frames lying around, they’re an easy and inexpensive way to create some decor! I designed some themed quotes/references, printed them out on cardstock, cut them out with a paper cutter, and framed them.

The majority of these doubled as labels for my themed food and beverages (more on that next). You could also print out pictures of the Bachelor/contestants and frame those!
Themed Food & Beverages
Themed food and beverages are maybe the most fun part of a Bachelor viewing party. To stay on brand, my advice is to try to have all food and beverages align with at least one of these three guidelines. Bonus points for multiple or all three!
- Red & Pink Colors
- Rose/Love-Themed
- Bachelor Puns/References

Beverages
For beverages, I served Riesling and rosé, complete with Bachelor puns: “Here for the right ‘Rieslings” and “Will you accept this rosé?”. For a non-alcoholic option, a Martinelli’s sparkling blush would be a great choice to stay on theme!

Appetizers & Desserts
I also put together a few different Bachelor-themed apps and desserts.
Open & Honest Bruschetta
As a nod to the show’s frequent reference to being “open and honest,” I served bruschetta. It also aligns well with the color scheme!

My Walls Are Up Watermelon
My amazing husband helped me slice watermelon into bricks and form them into a wall as another reference to the show. Watermelon is easily stackable and works well with Bachelor colors, but you could use other fruits as well!

Charcuterie Connections
Charcuterie is always a crowd-pleaser, and can be a great way to stay on theme for a Bachelor viewing party. I found a heart-shaped charcuterie board at Michael’s and added red/pink elements where I could.

Salami roses are clearly a must on this occasion! For tips on creating a basic board, check out my charcuterie template post.
Fantasy Sweets
For desserts, I put together a variety of “fantasy sweets,” including colored jelly bean hearts, a strawberry rose bouquet, and chocolate cupcakes (recipe) with raspberry frosting (recipe) piped into rosettes.

How to Create a Strawberry Rose Bouquet
To create a strawberry rose bouquet, you need just a few items:
- Strawberries
- Wooden skewers
- Sharp paring knife
- Small vase
Follow these steps to create a strawberry rose bouquet:
- Place a strawberry upside-down (tip pointing upward) on a wooden skewer.
- Take a paring knife and make four cuts around each side near the base to create the “petals.” Don’t cut all the way through! As you cut, use the blade of the knife to slightly bend the petals outward.
- Repeat the process, moving higher on the strawberry. For your next set of cuts, center each one between each previous cut.
- Make a slit in the tip of the strawberry for the bud.
- Place finished ‘roses’ in a vase.
How to Pipe Frosting Rosettes
If you’re intimidated by piping frosting rosettes, it’s actually so easy but looks impressive (and is very on brand for Bachelor Nation)! You can pipe rosettes on cupcakes, cakes, cookies, or any other dessert!
To pipe rosettes, you need the following items:
- Frosting
- Piping bag or Ziploc (I like these large piping bags because I always overfill)
- Wilton 2D piping tip (1M Open Star will also work)
Follow these steps to pipe frosting rosettes:
- Fill a piping bag and start with your piping tip in the center at a right angle to the surface.

- Squeezing gently but firmly, slowly move the piping bag around in a swirl, releasing frosting as you go. Don’t move too quickly, or your rosette may break or not be as full.

- Once you’ve completed the swirl and your rosette is about as large as you want it, stop squeezing but continue to move your bag in a circular motion as the final frosting tapers off. It may leave a small ‘tail’ behind, but simply use a toothpick to tuck it in if necessary.
- Voila!

Activities
Since watching The Bachelor is already an activity, additional activities are optional. However, they can be a fun way to engage your guests!

Roses & Red Flags Bingo
There are so many Bachelor Nation clichés and references, and playing bingo is a fun, interactive way to watch along with the show (especially when the red flags are flying).
I designed this Roses & Red Flags Bingo Pack specifically for Season 22 of The Bachelorette because I wanted something easy, as well as tailored to this season’s drama and recurring moments.
For $4.99, it’s an easy add-on that makes a regular episode feel more like a true watch party.
What’s included:
- 20 unique bingo cards
- Color and black & white options
- Two print formats:
- 5×7 individual cards
- 8.5×11 sheets with two cards per page
- Instant digital download (PDF)
Note: Season 22 was canceled after this game was created, and some squares include references specific to that season.
Tip: These cute heart pens on Amazon are perfect for filling out the cards.

Bachelor Bracket
If you want to be really hardcore and commit to watching the entire season together, you can have your guests each fill out a bracket and see who wins! Of course, you don’t need to keep score to have a great time. The best part is simply sharing the drama with friends.
From roses to brackets, it doesn’t take much to turn an ordinary evening into a night your friends will look forward to. With a little planning and effort, you can create a watch party that feels special and fun.
And don’t worry, you are definitely here for the right reasons.
