Old-Fashioned Pear Pie

Classic old-fashioned pear pie with a rich buttery sugar topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 unbaked pie shell
  • ½ cup salted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 8-10 pear halves (fresh or canned)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (~163°C).
  • Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add flour, eggs, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  • Arrange pear halves face-down evenly in the pie shell.
  • Pour butter mixture over the pears, spreading gently to cover.
  • Bake 40–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.
